On Monday, November 2nd, Consul General Nagamine gave a lecture at San Francisco State University on the recent developments in Japan's political landscape. In the talk titled "A Heisei Reformation - Changes under the New DPJ Government," Consul General not only explained the emergence of the new DPJ administration as a result of their landslide victory, but also gave detailed explanations of a series of policies announced by the new coalition government, based on Prime Minister Hatoyama's Policy Speech on October 26th (please refer to the attached slides). The talk was attended by the Deans of Humanities and Behavior/Social Science Departments, the Foreign Language Division Chair and other faculty members, students, researchers and the general public, totaling 75 attendees. The lecture was concluded with a Q&A session and a reception courtesy of Professor McKeon and her students.
