Consul General Nagamine gave a talk about Japan’s new outlook at UC Davis Back

On Thursday, January 28th, Consul General Nagamine gave a talk at the University of California at Davis on the current political, economic and social situation in Japan. In the talk titled “Japan’s New Outlook,” Consul General explained not only the emergence of the new DPJ administration, but also gave an outlook on the DPJ’s new policies. These series of policies announced by the new coalition government, ranged from climate change to the East Asia region to non-proliferation/disarmament to the U.S.-Japan alliance (please see the attached slides.) The attentive audience was comprised of 40 people, which included Director of the East Asian Studies Professor Chia-ning Chang, faculty members, and students. The talk was followed by Q&A session and a dinner meeting, courtesy of Professor Chang and East Asian Studies.
