Five Japanese students from Takko, Aomori Prefecture visiting their sister city of Gilroy bid a fond farewell during a reception held on January 9th. Host families, the Gilroy Sister Cities Association, and many other citizens attended this final exchange event, where students presented Japanese calligraphy and dance. It was a time of teary goodbyes as students thanked their host families for their warm welcome during their time in Gilroy. Consul Nagaoka attended from the Consulate and gave the students a message of encouragement in his speech.
