2013 Japanese Government Scholarship for JAPANESE LANGUAGE STUDIES Back
1One-Year Scholarship For Japanese Studies
The Japanese government is now offering one-year scholarships to study in Japan for currently enrolled undergraduate students majoring in Japanese language or Japanese culture. To apply, applicants must:

1 Hold U.S. citizenship;
2 Be born between April 2, 1983 to April 1, 1995;
3 Be a current undergraduate student majoring in fields related to Japanese language or Japanese culture at a non-Japanese University.
4 Be enrolled as an undergraduate student at a university outside of Japan at the time that they arrive and leave Japan;
5 Be able to arrive in Japan within two weeks counted from the starting day of the study course set by the university (programs usually begin in October);
6 Must have sufficient Japanese language ability to take classes at a Japanese university in Japanese.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5:00 PM ON FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 2013

A Japanese language examination is required of all applicants, and an interview in English will follow the exam. The language examination will be conducted on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Japan Information Center. (Further details about assessments will be given upon receipt of complete applications.)
