The
Asia Foundation |
The Asia Foundation is a private American grantmaking organization which
makes more than 1,500 grants each year to government agencies and nongovernmental
organizations in 37 Asian and Pacific Island nations. The Foundation has
promoted U.S.-Asian understanding and cooperation and encouraged Asian-Pacific
efforts to strengthen representative government, build effective legal
systems, foster market economies, increase accountability in the public
and private sectors, develop independent and responsive media, and encourage
broad participation in public life.

The Asia/Pacific Research Center is a research and training program within
Stanford University's Institute for International Studies. The focus of
the Center's work is contemporary economic, technological, political, strategic,
and social issues of importance to Asia and to the interactions of the
United States with nations of the region.

Center for East Asian Studies have both undergraduate degree program graduate
degree program. Undergraduate program provides board exposure too China
or Japan ( or East Asia as a whole) through a combination of courses in
several departments. At graduate level, AM degree program provides flexibility
in combining language training, interdisciplinary area studies, and a disciplinary
concentration.

Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE) |
The Japan Project of the Asia/Pacific Project, SPICE, develops supplementary,
interdisciplinary, and interactive curriculum for the K-12 Classroom. Published
curriculum topics include folktales, haiku, Japanese history, Japanese religion,
symbolism in Japanese language and culture, U.S.-Japan economic relations, history
of U.S.-Japan relations, the media in U.S.-Japan relations, and many more. For

Society for the Promotion of Science San Francisco Office |
The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is a quasi-governmental
organization, established by way of a national law for the purpose of contributing
to the advancement of science. Our San Francisco Office in Berkeley, California
is working with academic communities on the US West Coast to disseminate
and gather information and materials needed in promoting scientific cooperative
activities in the US and Japan.
The office also provides information and assistance to US researchers interested
in research in Japan or collaborative programs between Japan, and provides logistics
assistance to Japanese researchers visiting the US in pursuit of their research
work.
