Consul General Yamada visited Kern County

On April 29th, Consul General Yamada visited Kern County. He discussed the California high-speed rail project with Kern County 1st District Supervisor Mick Gleason and took a site tour of the railroad terminals in Shafter. Earlier that day, Consul General Yamada also visited high-speed rail construction sites in Fresno.

Consul General Yamada also met with Mr. Monte La Fave, Assistant Field Office Director, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security (ICE), and they expressed their support for continued collaboration. Mr. Yamada attended a dinner hosted by the Bakersfield Sister City Project Corporation, where he expressed appreciation for the positive relationship between Bakersfield and Wakayama City that has continued for more than 50 years.
