2016/5/6

On Tuesday, May 3rd Consul General Yamada attended the opening night performance of “KABUKI LION Shi-Shi-O: The Adventures of the Mythical Lion” at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Hotel, which is the first Kabuki performance held in indoor-theater in Las Vegas.
At the show’s opening reception, Consul General Yamada mentioned how great it is that the art of Kabuki, which is considered as a symbol of Japanese traditional performances, is shown to the audience in its new-style after its evolution through the collaboration of Japanese cutting-edge digital technology and world-class stage production of Las Vegas. He expressed his wish for performances like this to spread beyond Las Vegas and his hopes to see collaborative performances as a window for people to experience and understand Japan and Japanese culture.
“KABUKI LION Shi-Shi-O: The Adventures of the Mythical Lion” is an original new Kabuki play created for the Las Vegas audience. This performance challenges traditional Kabuki performance with a collaboration with Las Vegas style stage production and Japanese cutting edge technology. Performances will take place until Saturday, May 7th at Las Vegas’s MGM Grand.
We hope you have a chance to attend this wonderful performance.
