On Monday, January 23rd, Deputy Consul General Nagayoshi participated in the “Winter Fancy Food Show 2017”, which is the largest integrated food trade fair in the US.

More than 1,400 exhibitors gathered at this fair and around 33,000 visitors were expected to visit throughout the three day show, from January 22nd to 24th.

In the Japan Pavilion organized by Ministry of Agriculture from Japan and JETRO, many buyers showed interest in high-end foods from Japan at the more than 30 vendor booths, such as aged black garlic, cheese and fresh cream made from fermented soymilk, and frozen fresh pasta, which can be served after boiling in hot water for just five seconds.
