On Monday, February 27, Deputy Consul General Nagayoshi attended an information session on the Japan MAFF’s “Certification of Japanese Food and Ingredient Supporter Stores Overseas” seminar held at The SF VAULT in San Francisco, and gave an address. This system is one in which non-governmental organizations certify overseas restaurants and retailers that actively use and promote the allure of Japanese ingredients and alcoholic beverages as “Japanese Food and Ingredient Purveyors.” Representatives from various local retail stores and restaurants, as well as several media outlets, attended the briefing and displayed a great deal of interest in the system.
