Pacific Salon on the internment of Japanese Military Personnel in Siberia

On Thursday, March 30, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco and the Japan Society of Northern California co-hosted the Pacific Salon at the Consul General's official residence. The guest speaker was Ms. Haruko Sakakibara, lecturer of Japanese in the Department of East Asian Languages and Culture at University of California, Davis. Ms. Sakakibara gave a presentation on her study and comparative analysis of the illegal and forcible internment of Japanese Military Personnel in Siberia by the Soviet Union after WWII.
