50th Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival’s Opening Ceremony and Consul General’s Commendation to Japan-related Companies and Organization

On Saturday, April 8, Consul General Yamada attended the Opening Ceremony of the 50th Annual Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco Japantown’s Peace Plaza. Along with Consul General Yamada, President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors London Breed and Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown also attended.

During the ceremony, under the auspicious occasion of the 50th Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival, Consul General Yamada awarded his Commendation to local Japanese companies and an organization that have long supported the festival and many other Japanese and Japanese-American cultural and community activities in Northern California, and contributed to the promotion of friendship and understanding between the United States and Japan.
