Reception for the Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)

On Tuesday, May 2, Consul General Yamada hosted a reception for the participants of the Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). About 35 people attended the reception including the 24 Japanese and U.S. educators participating in the program as well as representatives of the Japan-U.S. Educational Commission (Fulbright Japan) and the Institute of International Education (IIE) .
The Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for ESD was jointly launched by the governments of Japan and the U.S. in 2009. This program is designed to promote ESD education and mutual understanding between Japan and the U.S. through educational and cultural exchanges among K-12 educators who teach ESD-related curricula in both countries.
