On Friday, June 23, Deputy Consul General Shoichi Nagayoshi attended the opening ceremony for the All United States Kendo Federation’s 2017 National Championship Tournament held at Independence High School in San Jose. Deputy Consul General Nagayoshi greeted the participants and remarked on the important role Kendo is playing in creating new bonds of friendship at the national and international levels. Around 450 participants from across the United States competed in this year’s tournament.
