Seventh Annual Japan-US Innovation Awards Reception

On Thursday, July 27, Consul General Yamada gave opening remarks at a VIP reception for the 2017 Japan-US Innovation Awards. The 2017 Japan – U.S. Innovation Awards Symposium took place on Friday, July 28 at Stanford University. The event is jointly hosted by the Japan Society of Northern California and Stanford University's US-Asia Technology Management Center, and aims to provide opportunities for collaboration between promising Japanese and American companies.
This year's Emerging Leader Award was presented to Preferred Networks, Inc. and Cylance Inc. The Outstanding Accomplishment in Japan-US Collaboration in Innovation Award was presented to The Pokemon Company and Niantic, Inc. Additionally, five promising Japanese startup companies also participated in an Innovation Showcase.
