On Wednesday, August 9, Consul General Jun Yamada attended the TOMODACHI Softbank Leadership Program Graduation Ceremony at the California State University East Bay campus. 100 high school students from Iwate, Fukushima, and Miyagi Prefectures participated in the program over three weeks, staying with host families, joining leadership workshops, and taking courses at UC Berkeley. Consul General Yamada delivered remarks to commend the students on successfully interacting and engaging with the United States through this program, adding that he expects all of them to be global citizens.
