The Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco is partnering with the 5th Japan Film Festival of San Francisco (September 1 – 10) to present three special engagements at New People Cinema in San Francisco’s Japantown. “Flower and Sword” (Historical Drama)
Date and Time: Friday, September 1, 7:00 PMThis historical drama focuses on the life and deeds of monk and master flower arranger, Senko Ikenobo. In the 16th century, towards the end of Japan’s warring states period, Japan is under the strict rule of Hideyoshi Toyotomi. In order to save his friend and tea master Sen no Rikyu, Ikenobo must challenge Toyotomi, not with blades, but with flowers.
