On Monday, October 16, Consul General Yamada gave opening remarks at a conference on robots called “Robots on the Rise: Building the Future of Robotics in Japan and the U.S.” The event was jointly organized by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Group (NEDO) and the Silicon Valley Forum. There were about 600 people in attendance, including NEDO chairman and the Director from the Robotics Policy Office in Tokyo (METI) and other experts in the field of robotics. The conference consisted of lectures and panel discussions by leaders from Japan and the U.S., as well as exhibitions and demonstrations by robotic companies.
