Seminar: Enhancing the Japan-U.S. Alliance: Security to Economic Relations at the World Affairs Council

On Thursday, October 26, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco, in partnership with the World Affairs Council (WAC), presented “Enhancing the Japan-U.S. Alliance: Security to Economic Relations”, a seminar looking at East Asian security which is under unprecedented threat by North Korea. This seminar featured speaker Ambassador Shotaro Oshima, who served as a Japanese diplomat in various countries affecting East Asian security and trade. Over 50 people attended this event.
Amb. Oshima spoke on the potential opportunities and challenges the Japan-U.S. relationship will face through multilateral trade negotiations and East Asian security. This program concluded with a conversation and Q&A session with Amb. C. Lawrence Greenwood, President of Japan Society of Northern California.
