School Visit (Lynbrook High School)

On Friday, January 19, Consulate staff members visited Lynbrook High School in San Jose and gave a presentation on the upcoming 2020 Olympics in Tokyo to two Japanese classes. The talk began with an introduction to the Edo Period and the modern history of Tokyo including the historical significance of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics as a symbol of Japan’s postwar recovery. The presentation concluded with an overview of the 2020 Olympics and the ongoing preparations for the Games.
