On Friday, January 26, Consul General hosted a Foreign Minister’s Commendation Conferment Ceremony for Mr. Manuel Cunha, Jr. Mr. Cunha was appointed President of the Nisei Farmers League in 1996 and since then has supported Japanese American farmers as well as the Japanese-affiliated society of Central California. Additionally, in the aftermath of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, he facilitated tens of millions of dollars in donations from farmers across the US to farmers in the affected regions of Japan.
