Conferment Ceremony of Imperial Decoration for Mr. Benh Koreyoshi Nakajo

On Wednesday, February 7, Consul General Yamada hosted the conferment ceremony and reception for the 2017 Autumn Decoration bestowed upon Mr. Benh Koreyoshi Nakajo.
Mr. Nakajo was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays for his contributions to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening the friendly relationship between Japan and the United States through his participation in such grassroots exchange activities as his leadership of the Northern California Cherry Blossom Queen Program.
Approximately 70 people, including friends and family of Mr. Nakajo as well as members of the Japanese and Japanese American community in the Bay Area, were in attendance to celebrate Mr. Nakajo’s numerous achievements.
