2018/4/2

On Friday, March 23, a Pre-Departure Orientation for the recipient of the 2018 MEXT Japanese Government Research Scholarship was held at Consulate-General of Japan in San Francisco. This year’s recipient was Ms. Larissa Bianca Nogueira Redditt who studied at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Ms. Redditt will be researching 19th century European scholarship on Japanese religion at Tohoku University.
Following a short presentation on the responsibilities of a MEXT scholar by consulate staff, a brief question and answer session took place with Mr. Chris Reed, Liaison Officer at JSPS, San Francisco Office, and a former MEXT and JET alum who answered questions and provided helpful advice based on his own experience as a Japanese government scholar.
