On Sunday, April 22, the Ambassador of Japan to the United States, Mr. Shinsuke J. Sugiyama, and Mrs. Sugiyama along with Consul General Tomochika Uyama and Mrs. Uyama and Consulate staff participated in the Grand Parade of the 51st Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival. The Parade is the annual finale to the Festival and travels between San Francisco’s City Hall and Japantown. Around 50 Japanese cultural organizations and community representatives participated in this year’s parade.
