Upcoming Japan-Related Films at CAAMFest 2018

The Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco, in partnership with the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) and other co-sponsors, is proud to present screenings for two feature length films at the CAAMFest 2018 film festival, the largest Asian-focused film festival in the United States.

“An American Story: Norman Mineta and His Legacy”

Join us for the world premiere of this documentary on former US Transportation Secretary and former San Jose Mayor Norman Mineta and his life and legacy at the opening film of CAAMFest 2018.

Synopsis: A documentary film on the life of Norman Mineta, and his pioneering contributions as the first Japanese American mayor of a major city in the United States, and eventually the first Asian American to serve in a U.S. presidential cabinet.

Synopsis: This Japanese-Singaporean production tells the story of a Singaporean chef who searches for his lost love in Okinawa, and instead discovers the charms and allures of Okinawan cuisine.
