Reception for the Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)

On Tuesday, May 1, Consul General Uyama invited members of the 2018 Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) to a reception at his residence. Attendees included 20 Japanese and American educators participating in this year's program as well as representatives of Fulbright Japan and the Institute of International Education (IIE) taking part in this educational exchange event.
The Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for ESD was jointly launched by the governments of Japan and the U.S. in 2009. This program is designed to promote ESD education and mutual understanding between Japan and the U.S. through educational and cultural exchanges among K-12 educators who teach ESD-related curricula in both countries.
