On Sunday, June 10, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco presented a special lecture by renowned local translator, interpretor, and author Mr. Frederik L. Schodt titled “Osamu Tezuka and Astro Boy: Creating the Framework for the Modern Manga and Anime Industries” at the 2018 San Francisco Comic Con held at the Oakland Convention Center.
About 80 people listened to the presentation about manga author Osamu Tezuka’s life and influences on the development of the Japanese and international manga and anime industries which was followed by an engaging Q&A session.
