Mr. Otake with his wife, Ms. Keiko Otake, and Consul General Uyama
On Saturday, July 14, Consul General Uyama attended the Fresno Buddhist Temple Obon “Festival of Lanterns". During the festival, Consul General Uyama presented Mr. Toshiro Otake with the Consul General’s Commendation. Mr. Otake was recognized for his assistance to the Japanese Consulate in providing consular service to Japanese residents in Fresno for the last 30 years. Attendees were able to enjoy Taiko drumming performances and Bon Odori (traditional Japanese dancing) at the festival.
