Welcome remarks from Consul General Uyama
On Tuesday, July 17, Consul General Uyama hosted a reception at his residence in honor of the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018, to be held at AT&T Park in San Francisco on July 20-22. During his opening speech, Consul General Uyama welcomed both Japan’s Men’s and Women’s Rugby Sevens teams and commented on the unifying nature of sports, expressing his excitement for both the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 and for the 2019 Rugby World Cup to be held in Japan. During the program, representatives from the Japanese Rugby Sevens Teams, World Rugby, USA Rugby, and the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 gave remarks. Afterwards, guests had the opportunity to meet and speak with the Japanese players.

The Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 tournament begins Friday, July 20 and continues until Sunday, July 22.
