The Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco, in partnership with UC Berkeley’s Department of Architecture at the College of Environmental Design, the UC Berkeley Center for Japanese Studies, and the Academy of Art University’s School of Architecture, is proud to present a special lecture “Nostalgic Future” by renowned Japanese Architect Takaharu Tezuka.

About Takaharu Tezuka

Takaharu Tezuka is a Professor at Tokyo City University and established Tezuka Architects in Japan in 1994 with his wife Yui Tezuka. Their unconventional and unique projects have been recognized internationally and their recent awards include the Architectural Institute of Japan’s Annual Architectural Commendations (2016), UNESCO’s Global Award for Sustainable Architecture (2017), and the Moriyama RAIC International Prize (2017).
