On Thursday, September 13, Deputy Consul General Shoichi Nagayoshi attended the 2018 research grant ceremony by the Okawa Foundation. The Okawa Foundation awards a $10,000 research grant to each scholar in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Since 1996, there have been 200 US scholars presented with research grants, totaling over $2 million in grant money. In 2018, there were six distinguished professors from six universities in the U.S. selected as recipients of these grants.
