Sake, Shochu & Awamori Educational Workshop and Tasting

On Monday, October 1, the Consulate General of Japan and Japan Exchange Trade Organization (JETRO) of San Francisco hosted a sake & spirits workshop and tasting at the Consul General's official residence. Sake School of America’s Vice President Toshio Ueno gave a detailed presentation about sake production and classification, and local industry experts participated in a panel discussion. Afterward, guests tasted sake brews and distilled shochu as well as awamori, a traditional beverage from Okinawa.
