Congratulatory remarks by Consul General Uyama
Opening greeting by Professor Levy
On Sunday, October 21 Consul General Uyama hosted a reception at his official residence in honor of Mr. Toshizo Watanabe for his gift to the Inter University Center for Japanese Studies in Yokohama to create a scholarship program for deserving American graduate and undergraduate students. Opening greetings by Prof. Indra Levy were followed by Consul General Uyama who in his congratulatory remarks stressed the critical importance of advanced Japanese language training to the future of Japan-US relations. In his speech Mr. Toshizo Watanabe talked about his support of programs that promote Japan-US relations through education like the IUC.
