On Tuesday, November 20, Consul General Uyama hosted the Foreign Minister’s Commendation Ceremony for Mr. Seiji Horibuchi. Mr. Horibuchi was recognized for his great contributions to promoting multiple aspects of Japanese pop culture and for his role in the spread and popularization of Japanese manga, fashion, music, and film, among others. He is the CEO and Founder of New People and the chair of J-POP SUMMIT, the premier event celebrating Japanese pop culture in Northern California.
