Upcoming Event: Chair Zazen Workshop & Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage Story

Please join the Japan Society of Northern California and Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco for an evening of discovery.
The Shikoku Pilgrimage is a 1,200 km (750 mi) circuit that connects 88 temples around Shikoku. For centuries, many people have completed this famous route for various personal reasons. Professor Jeffrey Dym, who has completed the Shikoku Pilgrimage four times, will present on its history and important place within Japan’s history.

Enko Sakai, head priest of Myojoin Temple in Aichi Prefecture, will speak more on Buddhism and conduct a workshop on the "Chair Zazen" technique he developed to encourage a strong mind.
The presentation and workshop will be followed by a Q&A with the speakers. Guests can enjoy complementary food and drink at the event.
