Consul General Uyama Visits the China Cabin

On Tuesday, May 21, Consul General Tomochika Uyama visited the China Cabin in Tiburon. The steamship PS China served the route between San Francisco and East Asia in the 19th century. The social hall of the ship was preserved as the China Cabin. The colonists from Aizu Wakamatsu, who built the first Japanese colony in the United States called the Wakamatsu Colony in June 1869, arrived in San Francisco on the PS China on May 20, 1869.
