JET Program Teaching Workshop in San Francisco
2019/6/28

On Saturday, June 22, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco hosted the JET Teaching Workshop for outbound JET Program* participants, who will leave for Japan at the beginning of August. Our office invited Ms. Amy Russo, a former JET Assistant Language Teacher (Gunma, 2010-2015) who currently works as a Multilingual Writing Support Service Coordinator, to help lead the workshop. 19 participants were in attendance and had the chance to learn skills for teaching English and team teaching with Japanese teachers of English. This year marks our third year organizing this workshop and it has been a great success each year. We hold this workshop both in San Francisco and San Jose for many participants to join.
* JET Program stands for Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. This program is operated through a partnership between the Ministries of Japan and local governments, and invites young people around the world to provide them opportunities to teach languages, sports, etc., in elementary, junior-high and high schools in Japan, and to work in local governments in order to promote international exchange in local communities.
