On Sunday, July 21, Consul General Uyama hosted a send-off reception for the Shinzen Nikkei Youth Program, a Japanese American delegation to Japan organized by the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (JCCCNC). During his speech, Consul General Uyama stated that this is an ideal model of a successful grassroots US-Japan exchange program and it will be the very first Shinzen delegation to Japan since the beginning of the new era “Reiwa”. Afterward, he expressed his high hopes for the Shinzen Program participants to be bridges between the US and Japan.
