An explanation of the 442nd RCT
On Thursday, July 25, Consul General Uyama, together with Ms. Sophie Lafitte, Deputy Consul General of the Republic of France, visited an exhibit showcasing the 442nd Regimental Combat Team (RCT) and the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) aboard the USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum in Alameda. They received a briefing about the exhibit from Mr. Lawson Sakai, a veteran leader of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team E Company, and Mr. Brian Shiroyama of Friends & Family of Nisei Veterans.
