Consul General Uyama throws out the first pitch
Ceremonial Sake Cask Opening
On Sunday, August 18, the San Jose Giants (Class A-Advanced Minor League farm team for the San Francisco Giants) held their Japanese Heritage Night. Consul General Uyama attended the event, throwing the ceremonial first pitch and participating in a sake barrel breaking ceremony before the game. The game was also preceded by performances of Japanese taiko drumming, Yosakoi dancing, and the national anthems of both the United States and Japan.
