On Saturday, September 21, Deputy Consul General Kazuhiro Iryu attended“Tabemasho”, the annual gala of the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (JCCCNC). Around five hundred participants enjoyed various culinary cuisines from the San Francisco Bay Area, Hawaii, and Japan, including Oita Prefecture. During the program, Mr. Paul Osaki, Executive Director of The Center, announced that the construction of the Issei Commemorative Garden Project, which began as a commemoration of the 110th Anniversary of San Francisco’s Japantown in 2016, had been completed the week before. The dedication ceremony of the garden was held after the gala.
