On Wednesday, October 2, Deputy Consul General Iryu attended the farewell banquet of the Friends and Family of Nisei Veterans (FFNV) Annual Reunion with Honorary Consul in Las Vegas, Kathleen Blakely, and delivered remarks. Attendees included 442nd Regimental Combat Team veteran leader Lawson Sakai and his wife, Vice President of FFNV Brian Shiroyama, and many FFNV members. During the event, attendees commemorated the war dead and celebrated the reunion of Nisei veterans.
