Consul General Uyama welcomes his guests

On Thursday, December 5, Consul General and Mrs. Uyama hosted a luncheon at their residence recognizing the officers of the Ikebana Teachers Federation and the Ikebana International San Francisco Bay Area Chapter. Consul General and Mrs. Uyama thanked the boards of the two organizations for their many activities promoting Ikebana and Japanese Culture throughout Northern California.
During the program, Ms. Kinko Saiki, a longtime member of both organizations and a founding board member of the Ikenobo Ikebana Society of Northern California, was awarded the Consul General’s Commendation for her contributions to mutual understanding and appreciation between Japan and California.
