Consul General Maeda Attends Day of Remembrance Ceremony in San Jose

On Sunday, February 16, Consul General MAEDA Toru attended and gave remarks at the 40th Anniversary San Jose Day of Remembrance ceremony at San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin. The main program consisted of a keynote speech by former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta. At the end of his speech, Secretary Mineta welcomed Consul General Maeda, who arrived in the Bay Area on February 10, and introduced him to the San Jose Japanese American community. The program also included a cultural performance by San Jose Taiko and the Wesley Jazz Ensemble, as well as a candlelight ceremony.
