On Saturday, February 29, the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco, in partnership with the San Francisco Public Library (SFPL), hosted a screening of the film "The Old Capital" at the SFPL Main Library. The film is a continuation of a novel bearing the same name and written by 1968 Nobel Literature laureate Yasunari Kawabata, and presents a story of Japanese societal and cultural traditions finding a home in the 21st century.

During the event, the Consulate provided information on Japanese culture, tourism, and Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic.
