On Wednesday, August 5, and Saturday, August 8, Sister Cities International coordinated bell ringing ceremonies in sister cities across the United States and Japan to commemorate 75 years of peace since the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In California, the following 22 sister cities organized these ceremonies. Consul General Maeda attended virtual bell ringing ceremonies in Cupertino and Oakland and delivered video messages.
