On Thursday, February 25, the virtual Emperor’s Birthday Event was held and around 200 guests joined.
The event featured congratulatory remarks from California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, CA State Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, CA State Senator Richard Pan, CA State Senator Scott Wiener, CA State Assemblymember Ed Chau, and CA State Assemblymember Steve Bennett. Representatives from a wide range of areas, including Japanese American communities, consular corps, economic organizations, sister city organizations, and universities, also gave video messages.
