2021 Japan – US Innovation Awards Symposium

Day 1 of the 11th Japan-US Innovation Awards Symposium was held online on Thursday, July 8. The Consulate General of Japan sponsored this annual event co-organized by the Japan Society of Northern California and the US-Asia Technology Management Center at Stanford University.
This year, the Innovation Awards Symposium was held over 2 days. On July 8, two companies (headquartered in Japan and the US) received the Emerging Leader Awards for technological innovations in their respective industries. On July 15, the Innovation Showcase will feature five Japanese startup companies that are young and rapidly growing companies developing exciting technologies and groundbreaking business ideas.
In his remarks, Consul General Maeda mentioned that Prime Minister Suga held a summit meeting with President Biden in Washington, D.C. this past April and together released a joint statement on the launch of the U.S.-Japan Competitiveness and Resilience Partnership, focusing on cooperation in many innovative fields. Consul General Maeda hopes this Symposium will lead to new collaboration that brings our countries even closer together.
