Based on the short story of the same name by author Haruki Murakami, this film tells the story of Yusuke, a renowned actor and stage director suffering from loss and tragedy who is invited to Hiroshima to lead a production. Against his wishes, he’s assigned a chauffeur, Misaki, with her own difficult past. Through their time on the road together, the two communicate, connect, and share their stories. Winner of the Best Screenplay Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
