On Saturday, February 12, the Japanese American Citizens League Central California District Council (JACL CCDC) held a virtual Day of Remembrance event. Consul General Kawamura attended and delivered remarks at the event, which was organized by CCDC Governor and Honorary Consul of Japan in Fresno Dale Ikeda.
This event is held every year to remember the signing of Executive Order 9066, which resulted in the incarceration of 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry in America’s concentration centers during World War II.
