On Friday, March 18, Consul General Kawamura attended a welcome reception for Japanese yachtsman Mr. Kenichi Horie. Mr. Horie, who sailed solo from Japan to the U.S. in 1962, will embark on another solo voyage from San Francisco to Japan later this month. At the event, which was hosted by Japan-related and other local organizations, Consul General Kawamura spoke about Mr. Horie’s commitment to connecting Japan and San Francisco, and wished him safety and success on his upcoming journey.
